I believe Shaun Goater MBE deserves a testimonial for his outstanding goals per game ratio and unique career at Manchester City.
The Goat joined Manchester City in 1998 after brief spells with Manchester United, Bristol City and Rotherham United.
The Goat was not a Thierry Henry or Wayne Rooney. It was his flukey deflections, lucky tap-ins and simple one-on-ones which made him so special.
After his career at City, Shaun endured an unhappy season at Reading before heading off for Southend United to help them seal promotion in his final year of footballing.
Surely a legend such as Shaun Goater should be celebrated.
