It has become evident at all levels of government that the people's voice has been silenced. Special interests, incompetent bureaucracies, and other factors have rendered the average American with little to no power to move the levers of power back to protecting life, liberty, and property.
It seems that at this point emails, letters, speaking at public meetings, and even peaceful protests are unable to pierce the veil of corruption that has shrouded our government so completely today.
We need to bring those who wish to rule over us back to being concerned with our situation in life. This can only be done by withholding that which sustains them and drains us: taxes.
If we were to pay our taxes supposedly owed into an escrow account and prevented the disbursement of these funds until our demands were met we would be fulfilling our duty to stand up to tyranny.
"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security." --The Declaration of Independence
Moving in unison we possess more power than could ever be stopped by any government of man. I propose when we reach 5,000 signatures we all agree to place our supposedly owed monies into a secure escrow account or some other kind of device to keep it safe. Here it will sit until a decision is reached by the signatories as to it's fate.
We the People of New Hampshire withhold our tax dollars, earned by the sweat of our brows, from an unresponsive, unconstitutional, corrupt government. These funds shall be placed into an escrow account and not disbursed until the demands of the people are met.
We do so under the authority of the New Hampshire Constitution.
- [Art.] 12. [Protection and Taxation Reciprocal.] Every member of the community has a right to be protected by it, in the enjoyment of his life, liberty, and property; he is therefore bound to contribute his share in the expense of such protection, and to yield his personal service when necessary. But no part of a man’s property shall be taken from him, or applied to public uses, without his own consent, or that of the representative body of the people. Nor are the inhabitants of this State controllable by any other laws than those to which they, or their representative body, have given their consent."
The current government of New Hampshire has not fulfilled their duty to protect the people of this great state from the overreaching tyrannical hand of the federal government. Therefore, the people of this state are under no obligation to part with their tax dollars for a service not rendered.
It is with great reluctance that we then rely on Article 10 to remove this current band of sellouts who have forgotten their oaths they swore to uphold.
- [Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind."
Government was created to be a defender of our Rights, not the main abuser of them. We the People of New Hampshire peacefully exit this most unhealthy relationship and look towards the future where each of our voices are heard and we are once again the master of our destinies.
We will leave our allegedly owed tax monies in this secure escrow account until such time that the government realizes who is the true master in this relationship. Man created government, not the other way around.
