Petition Background (Preamble):
Teen suicide has increased four times in the last few decades and is now the third leading cause of death among 15 and 25 years old. At the age of five to fourteen suicides is the sixth leading cause of death.
Society needs to be more aware of the causes and warning signs that often lead to suicide in young children. Depression is often associated with suicide, but the problem can usually be prevented with proper treatment such as counseling or anti-depressants.
About five to ten percent of teens at some time in their life suffer from depression, and if not treated properly, depression can lead to suicide in almost fifteen percent of those troubled teens. Depression is the typical trigger for most suicide attempts. A study shows that due to teens not taking their anti depressant medication has caused a 5% increase in teen suicide.

This petition is made to make society aware that teen suicide is on the high rise. Join me and sign this petition to enforce the treatment and immediate medication of depressed teens with anti depressants.
All teens who show a small sign of a depressed person must be provoked into treatment and medicated as soon as possible. This petition will save lives. Enforced treatment and medication will help slow down the chain of teen suicide. Depression is the leading cause of suicide and attacking depression will prevent suicide.
