The Buttfumble has entertained sports fans for almost a year and has sparked internet memes, parodies and even merchandise such as T-shirts and Hoodies. For forty weeks, the online sports community has voted overwhelmingly to keep the Buttfumble atop ESPN's blooper reel.
Despite fan support and popularity, ESPN has decided to retire the Buttfumble. Thousands of fans are outraged at this decision, as evidenced by the negative reception they had in web forums and ESPN's own comment boards. It is in the best interest for the sports media to keep its fans pleased, and this example of ignoring the fans is a major step backwards.
