In the history of the Millbury Sutton Raiders not a lot of teams have made it to Florida for nationals.
But this year two cheerleading teams made it, and two football teams made it.
Even though both cheerleading and football made it, people only thought the football team deserved it. That in my opinion, is sexist.
This is a petition stating that sexist ways in sports are not right. By saying only the boys should be rewarded for their hard work, and the girls should not be rewarded because they supposedly didn't work as hard is sexist.
The boys and girls had the same length of practice time, and got just as far as the cheerleaders. Before regional games and competitions, some people of the town said that they don't think they should pay for cheerleaders to go, just football players.
Well now, the person standing up for the cheerleaders may be fired. This petition is stating that sexist ways in sports and to children is not right.
We, the undersigned, agree that sexist ways in sports are not right. The Millbury Sutton Raiders cheerleaders should receive the recognition they deserve.
