The city of Chicago has the opportunity to add a new and relevant museum to the cities lakefront, the Lucas Museum. The Friends of the Park have taken legal action prohibiting the use of lakefront land as the future home of the museum.

According to the language in Forever Free and Clear, the document that is being used to support their case, the original boundaries intended to remain free and clear for all to enjoy is from 12st to Madison.

The proposed sites suggested for the museum are not only outside of those boundaries but already have existing structures. The city is proposing to tear down a structure and replace it with the Lucas Museum.

We, the undersigned, call for the Friends of the Park to cease interference against the building of the Lucas Museum on the lakefront of Chicago outside of the restrictive guidelines of Forever Free and Clear.

The Lucas Museum is wanted and needed in our city the Mayor's choice of locations is perfect for the city and the surrounding communities.
