Support South Fambridge ....stop Car Breakers Yard

South Fambridge is a small rural village in Essex with approx 80 dwellings situated immediately next to the River Crouch and surrounded by working farmland.
The only access to the village is via a narrow winding country lane which in places has a 60mph speed limt. The lane has designated by the highway agency as unsafe for children and parents to be able to walk to and from Ashingdon/Greensward Schools.

The former shellfish packing station which is immediatley adjacent to the river has been drelict for many years but has recently been purchased by a CAR BREAKERS / REPAIR YARD BUSINESS who intend use it as additional premises to an existing business on a local Industrial Estate with easy access from the A127. The damaged vehicles will be transported on trucks using the narrow lane which goes through the village to the site and will be either dismantled or repaired and taked away by trucks….waste metal and stripped parts will be loaded on trucks for export also using the lane. The company has started to make changes to the site and is breaching condditons of planning.

Our major concerns as a community are ;-
Inadequete road access in terms of width, structure, safety to pedestrians and other road users(no pavements or lighting)…Access to site, single dirt track shared with Publick right of way, Bridle path, Ferry rights. .. Danger to Ashingdon Primary School pupils who cross this road in two places…Enviromental Impact (pollution, air, light, noise, land, and water)…Wildlife Impact.. (habitat and conservation of species)…Microclimate (rural weather conditions affecting visabilty and road use in winter)…Visually not inkeeping with the natural footprint of this area and effecting the peace and beauty associated with the village and surrounding area.
