Support servers to add gratuity to parties of 8 or more

Servers work for less than minimum wage and are not allowed to add gratuity to parties of 8 or more due to a law passed by the IRS. We are having our income that we survive on cut in half. Parties require a lot of work and take up hours of our time which do not allow us to have any other tables due to the individual attention it takes to be successful.

We as servers share our tips with the other servers we share the party with bussers, and bar tenders according to our sales and NOT according to what tips we actually make. I have waited on parties of 60 and 40 etc... with the check totaling over $ 800.00 only to leave work with $5.00. This is a disgrace. To make 5.00 an hour and leave with a 5.00 tip after waiting on a large party for over 3 hours is appalling.
