New Jersey, in addition to, currently having one of the country's highest drivers license suspension rate, has a very limited - to none existent - public transportation system in the suburban areas (which is most of NJ).
New Jersey is one of the very few states in America, that doesn't provide a hardship license under any condition; which serves as, not only an injustice, but an inconvenience.
As we struggle through this tough economic time, with more and more people losing their jobs and the increasing number of people who have to travel further away from home to obtain employment, coupled with the high drivers license suspension rate, it is no longer of a matter of privilege but task of survival.
A Cinderella or hardship license would allow residents the opportunity to drive to/from work, school and for medical purposes, after their New Jersey driver's license has been suspended.
We, the undersigned, call on the legislators of the state of New Jersey to help its residences by taking steps to put in place a hardship license.
