Support Construction of a Regional Park and Soccer Fields And A Vocational Education Center In Southeast Fresno

We the undersigned individuals and residents of the City of Fresno, along with the Southeast Fresno Community Economic Development Association, Inc. (SEFCEDA) hereby petition the Fresno City Council and the Mayor, the State Center Community College District Board, and the National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior in support of the construction of a Regional Park and Soccer Fields and the Construction of a Vocational Education Center in Southeast Fresno, as stated herein:

Regional Park and Soccer Fields. We the undersigned support the construction of a regional park and soccer fields on a 47.15-acre parcel(s) of land owned by the City of Fresno received from the National Park Service of the United States Department of the Interior. Said property is located at 2155 S. Peach Avenue, Fresno CA and designated, according to the October 31, 2006 quit claim deed transmitted to the City, exclusively for use as and for "public park and public recreation area purposes." We, the signers support the current designation of the National Park Service of that parcel(s) and would oppose any changes to that designation.

Vocational Training Center. We the undersigned support the construction of a Vocational Education Center by the State Center Community College District (SCCCD) in Southeast Fresno: a) On the 120 acres on Clovis and North Avenue secured by SCCCD for this purpose, or; b) On another Southeast Fresno location that would utilize an existing building(s), with some modifications or other appropriately designed building(s) or vacant parcel(s) with available infrastructure that would best serve the needs of Southeast Fresno residents and the region.
