This petition is to stop Blizzard from posting its customers First and Last names on the public forums. We the undersigned feel that the RealID would present more problems to the forums than it would prevent.

Blizzard themselves said "the forums have also earned a reputation as a place where flame wars, trolling, and other unpleasantness run wild" We the undersigned feel that the unpleasantness that is already there will still be there and will now affect our real life.

One poster using the handle Zillis summed it up very well:
"Inducing a desired response by way of threat is one of the four definitions of terrorism. (The calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear, source: wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn)"
He also went on to say: "in order for this system to be self regulating (the forums) the threat of real public humiliation is in effect. eg. you act stupid on forum, someone will come knocking on your door. That threat is facilitated by blizzard, when they allow access to people's real ID. Control by an underlying threat is terror. While it can be argued that it is not blizzard per se, that makes this threat, they are making it possible (and thus responsible at least from my point of view)".
