Our planet’s great whales are battling for their lives.
Whales face more threats today than at any other time in history. Commercial whaling has been banned for more than two decades – yet Japan, Iceland and Norway continue firing harpoons into these gentle creatures for products that nobody needs.
More than 30,000 whales have been killed for commercial purposes since the ban on whaling in 1986. And now the magnificent humpback whale is being targeted for whaling by the government of Japan.
