I am Paul Burrell I presently have a Civil Action before the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
The Gaming Control Act section 20 sub section C states operators and regulators must have in place policies and procedures to Identify and remove Problem Gamblers. This is Legislation but, government and its Police force have chosen to not abide by the regulations. The reasons are obvious to make it more lucrative for government coffers and operators. The Act also states they must operate gaming in a responsible way with Honesty and Integrity.
The Ombudsman's office has completed an Investigation and has made recommendations to the Government, regulators and Police who is Department of Labour Minister and AGA are regulators.

I became addicted to these machines since the government made them legal in Nova Scotia. I have lost all monies and have been left to impoverishment because i was permitted to gamble for days weeks and months and years without any Intervention.
I would like to ask Nova Scotians do they want gambling in Nova Scotia Casino Operations and these VLT Machines that alledge to destroy the fabric of society. If our government had good intentions they would have not permitted uncontrolled gambling for years in the establishments.
I believe the people have the power to make the decision what is entertainment and what is not.
Do Nova Scotians want uncontrolled gaming (gambling)?
Do Nova Scotians want these gambling establishments to cease operations after all the devastation) Family's Destroyed Suicides, Pensioners loosing uncontrolled amounts of pensions and life savings for some social life.
Addictions are very difficult to deal with. Addicts are the last to admit he or she has a problem. The signs of addiction are evident to operators and regulators and the Police force of Gaming in Nova Scotia.
I ask Nova Scotians to stand up and say NO to Gambling in Nova Scotia by signing this Petition will send a strong message to our Government that is long over due.
So we call upon our government leaders to stop this vicitmization of Problem Gamblers in Nova Scotia and their families. Goverment should channel thieir energies into more socially acceptable endeavours the government has no excuse they have the power and the resources to do just that. The fact is even after all the history and data gathered about gambling here and in North America we are faced with very serious problem. And a growing problem daily.
I ask you to say Yes or No to Gambling in Casinos and VLT"s In Nova Scotia.
