Though the use of children is condemned by the international community, many countries continue this atrocious practice.
This practice causes grave psychological and physical harm to a child. What's more troubling is that they are forced to carry out acts of violence towards other children. Boys are not the only victims of this horrible problem. Both boys and girls are victims of this issue.
Please join us in abolishing the use of children as soldiers.

To the Ambassadors of Colombia, Cuba, and Indonesia:
Your Excellency,
I urge your government to ratify the Optional Protocol, without reservations and to setting 18 as the minimum age for all forms of military recruitment, as an essential step toward ending the use of children as soldiers.
