Rolle College became part of the then Polytechnic South West in 1988-89 and in 1992 the polytechnic received university status, becoming the University of Plymouth.
As of July 2008, Rolle College will no longer serve as the Faculty of Education for the University of Plymouth.
When relocation was decided, Exmouth was promised that every effort would be made to sell the campus for educational use and not just sold to the highest bidder.
Recently the university has declined several offers from a consortium interested in retaining the campus for educational use and have now pulled out of exclusive negotiations.
The campus will be placed on the market very soon. This means that anyone will then be allowed to bid for the site.
We don't want to see this site sold to a developer so please show your support and sign below.
We, the undersigned, call on the University of Plymouth not to sell Rolle College to developers and to make more effort to narrow the gap between the offer made by the consortium and that expected by the university.
