On January 10, 2013, parents and teachers at the Windy City Kids Children's Development Center located in the Social Security Administration Building (600 W. Madison, Chicago, IL) were notified that as of April 8, 2013, SSA will be closing the doors of Windy City Kids Children's Development Center permanently.

Since the Center serves both Federal families as well as families from across the Chicagoland area, it doesn't make sense why they would make this decision.

Add that to the fact that most daycare waiting lists are 6 months or longer and parents are now scrambling to find an alternate location on such short notice and you can understand why we are upset.

We the parents and friends of students attending Windy City Kids Children’s Development Center located at 600 W. Madison, Chicago, IL 60661, are petitioning to keep the Center Open. Windy City Kids Children's Development Center has been operating since April 1999.

It is a high quality, comprehensive and affordable child development program for children ages six weeks to five years.

We respect and honor the teachers and staff at the Center and reject the idea of moving elsewhere.

This Center truly reflects an environment where children can create, imagine, learn, play, and grow.
