From July 1st - November 15th terrified seal pups are separated from their mothers and viciously beaten for their pelts.
This cruel tradition is defended by the Namibian governments claims of seals consuming 700,000 tons of fish every year.
This claim was proven false after the improvement of South Africas fishing industry since ending their seal culling in the 1990's.
We, the undersigned, call on the Namibian Minister of Fisheries & Marines Resources to stop this barbaric & cruel practice of killing these sweet natured, defenseless animals.
