Only Six (6) signatures obtained; howeve, that is a moot point since Congress has moved on to other bills.
The current health-care system is, according to politicians, some social activists, and uninsured, so badly broken that big brother is being forced to step in and totally rebuild the system.
STOP H.R. 3200 entitled:
America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009,
as introduced on July 14, 2009.
JUSTIFICATIONS FOR THIS REQUEST:
1. This hastily prepared, lengthy and convoluted act creates a bureaucracy of monumental proportions, answerable exclusively to the Office of the President, Barack H. Obama,
2. Contrary to Mr. Obama’s promises to reduce taxes, exercise fiscal responsibility and NOT increase the federal budget. This 1000 plus page document contains language which will force our descendants into perpetual debt.
3. the Congressional Budget Office, an independent oversight agency, states; “By the end of the 10-year period, in 2019, the coverage provisions would add $202 billion to the federal deficit, CBO and JCT estimate. That increase would be partially offset by net cost savings of $50 billion and additional revenues of $86 billion, resulting in a net increase in the deficit of an estimated $65 billion.”
4. Other estimates range into the trillions of added deficit.
5. During the August recess of Congress, Americans throughout the United States, exercising their rights, expressed forcefully, their displeasure with the bill and most particularly with the ‘Public Option’.
6. Under our Constitution, the federal government has very limited authority, and most certainly, NO authority to dictate, construct and operate a national health care system. Similar systems in Canada, the U.K. and in Communist Countries have been and are dismal failures.
7. Lastly, our government is held in very low esteem by the citizens for whom they purportedly work.
THEREFORE, we as the employers of the 536 members of the Executive and Legislative Branches of OUR government, insist and DEMAND that H.R. 3200, and the Baucus proposal currently in the Senate, be withdrawn. We further insist that OUR government act in full compliance with the US Constitution and comport yourselves as the GOOD SERVANTS you swore to be.
