Stop Gucci, Prada, Versace, Hatem Yavuz from selling Seal Fur.

I was shocked to find out about the involvement of Gucci, Prada, Versace, Hatem Yavuz in the cruel slaughter of seal pups in Canada and Namibia.

Namibia's mass seal slaughter is barbaric and completely unnecessary. Clubbing seal pups that are still nursing - a practise banned by all other sealing countries because of its cruelty - is utterly appalling.

Seals based on the history of the Vikings "Hakapik" are hit with an axe by the pointed tip.

Gucci, Prada sells them. Hatem Yavuz company founded in 1975 on his own behalf, leather, fur and wool trade is doing. The slogan is "Leather is our business," the company's head office in Australia. The company is also in Turkey, Russia and South Africa have facilities. The Group's committed Yavuz leather Gucci, Prada and Versace are used by such famous fashion houses.

The Canadian government is justifying the seal hunt by saying that harp seals are eating too many cod, but if that logic were followed to its honest ends, then the Canadian government would have to open a hunting season on commercial fishing companies. It’s overfishing by humans that’s decimated Atlantic cod populations, not overeating by seals.

There’s no need for a seal hunt. People don’t need to wear fur to be warm anymore. We don’t need blubber to heat our homes or seal meat to eat. Seal fur from this hunt is going to fashion companies like Gucci, Versace, and Prada. It’s a luxury as disgusting as a Hummer.

At a time when the ocean’s ecology is starting to tumble out of balance, and the Arctic is being radically changed by global warming, it is unwise for humans to engage in a large-scale attack upon any part of the marine Arctic ecosystem.

We need to restrain our consumption of resources from the oceans. This is no time to start a new campaign to strip the seas of what they have to give.
Gucci, Prada, and Versace use slaughtered seal pup pelts to create some of their fashions, which are exported to Norway, Finland, Hong Kong, Turkey, Russia, and other countries. The pelts will be used to make expensive designer-label coats and accessories.

For six to eight weeks each spring, the ice floes of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the eastern coast of Newfoundland and Labrador turn bloody, as some 300,000 harp seal pups, virtually all between 2 and 12 weeks old, are beaten to death—their skulls crushed with a heavy spiked club called a hakapik—or shot. They are then skinned on the ice or in nearby hunting vessels after being dragged to the ships with boat hooks. The skinned carcasses are usually left on the ice or tossed in the ocean.

Please! Add your name to the many of the entire civilized world shocked that this barbaric practice is allowed.

Don't shop at Gucci, Versace, Prada!
