Background (Preamble):
Forced labour, torture and extrajudicial executions have been committed in the Myanmar army’s offensive against the Karen civilians of Kayin State and Bago Division in eastern Myanmar between November 2005 and November 2008.
Under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, they are considered to be crimes against humanity.

The Asia Pacific Youth Network calls on the Myanmar army to immediately stop all human rights violations against the Karen civilians.
Further, all violations of international human rights and humanitarian law should be subject to prompt, independent, and impartial investigations, and perpetrators, including those who ordered these acts, should be brought to justice.
