A building plan coming before the Natick Conservation Commission & the Natick Historical Commission seeks permission to construct a large (four thousand square foot +/-) building on the banks of the Charles River on a narrow strip of land between 100 and 102 Eliot Street.

The sponsors of this plan are asking Natick to ignore it's environmental guidelines

This proposal will destroy the habitant of the area's wildlife by eliminating 13+ trees in a pine forest. Pine trees are essential to numerous wildlife including endangered species. The Spotted Owl is endangered because of loss of it's habitant - which Eagles and other wildlife important to the food chain

BUILDING ON THE RIVER WILL NEGATIVELY IMPACT

* Water quality in the already contaminated Charles River,

* Property Values,

* The aquifer that runs adjacent to the proposed building site,

* The historical character of the John Eliot Historic District,and

* Neighboring homes that have a history of basement flooding

BUILDING ON THE RIVER WILL ELIMINATE:

*The open space from the street to the river that has been home to various species of wildlife

* The beautiful and aesthetically unique view from one side of the river to the other that the public now enjoys and that has been untouched since before John Eliot settled in Natick.

We, the undersigned, call on the Town of Natick, including Natick Conservation Commission, Natick Historical Commission and all other involved Commissions or Boards to protect the beauty, value & safety of our community and its environment by preventing construction on the parcel of land located between 100 and 102 Eliot Street in The John Eliot Historical District.
