Bill C-6 is an almost direct clone of bill C-52 that the Canadian people rallied together to stop and succeeded. This bill has some benefits but is vague in the area of Natural Food Products.
This bill will give the power to appointed inspectors to seize any consumer product that they feel is unsafe to the general public without any scientific fact to support their actions. It will also give the right of the government to ban or controls vitamins, herbal remedies, etc...
The control of such products such as ascorbic acid (vitamin C) would fall under the domain of the government and pharmaceutical companies to produce and control doses. A prescription could be needed to obtain such items which is the case in much of Europe.
We the citizens of Canada undersigned below, call for Parliament to stop further implementation of bill C-6.
