Stop AFL's promotion of betting

Background (Preamble):
The relentless and excessive promotion of live odds/betting on the scoreboards screens at both the MCG and Etihad stadium needs to be stopped.
Exposure to gambling advertisements from a young age can normalise gambling for children. A number of studies, including one by Adelaide University’s Associate Professor Paul Delfabbro, show that this exposure can lead to a greater risk of children developing gambling problems as they grow older.
The AFL have publically stated that they are concerned about this issue but have done nothing as they are not responsible for this promotion. Both venues - the MCC and Etihad state that it is the AFL that is responsible. The Federal Government in the Senate is currently holding an enquiry called the Joint Select Committee on Gambling reform.
This reform is moving too slowly. Community action is needed. I urge you to support this issue by signing up.

We the undersigned request the immediate banning of scoreboard promotion (both visual and voiced) of live odds/betting at AFL matches at both the MCG and Etihad Stadiums.
The relentless promotion of betting during matches where children are actively encouraged to attend is unacceptable. These matches are often viewed by families and children.
