Consideration is being given to changing the traffic situation on St. Stephen's Hill. The lower part of the 'Hill' lies within a conservation area, and includes a variety of Grade II listed buildings.
We, the undersigned, demand that the County and Town Authorities consider the wishes and needs of those residing on and around this ancient, unclassified thoroughfare to provide the following:
1. That priority be given to the B3254, Roydon Road, over St. Stephen's Hill at the top of the 'Hill'.
2. That a 20 mph. speed limit be imposed on the 'Hill' from Newport Roundabout to St. Cuthbert Close.
3. That traffic calming measures (humps) be installed from Newport Roundabout to a point above St. Joseph's School.
