As of 1st June 2010 a new law came into force in Scotland, which now means the sport of fencing is being totally restricted.
Under this new law fencers will NOT be allowed to buy weapon blades at events, they will only be able to buy from their coach who may not be there.
Therefore, as happens quite often if a blade breaks you can not just go buy a new one from the equipment stand at the venue.

By the way this new law also affects the sport of Darts, Javelin and every other sport with "Sharp Point" or a "Blade" even if that blade is not sharpened as with the sport of fencing.
