Fundamental to the advancement of sport and recreation as well as identification and nurturing of talented athletes in preparation for high levels of competition is the access to suitable sport and recreation infrastructure.
Transformation of South African sport is dependent on a holistic sport development programme which requires appropriate infrastructure as a critical means to enable access, talent identification and accelerated development of athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds or physically challenged.
The situation has been exacerbated by the absence of the norms and standards for recreation and sport infrastructure which outline the minimum acceptable standards in the provision and management of recreation and sport infrastructure.
The Local area of Southridge needs the facilities in order to accelerate growth and development in our community, province and country.
The facilities are to accommodate all and enforce development.
