I would like to have necessary speedbumps placed to insure the safety of my six children who are under 12 years old who reside with me on Valleyview Drive in Cedar Rapids. There are several other families with young children in this neighborhood.
My wife and myself have witnessed vehicles drag racing at all times of the day and late into the night. There is not much of a police presence in the neighborhood. We are also asking for a street light for dusk nighttime safety to be installed.
We, the undersigned, ask for the petition to be granted to ensure the safety of the children, residents , and properties in this neighborhood located right outside of city limits.
This request is for as many speed bumps deemed necessary to be put into place on the long stretch of road on Valley View Drive to prevent hazardous street racing , accidents, and injuries from occurring in this neighborhood.
We are also asking for a street light for dusk nighttime safety to be installed.
