The South Carolina Calvert Academy is committed to helping teachers and parents inspire the best in their students.
Students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade will attend school primarily from home with the supervision of a South Carolina-certified teacher working in partnership with their parent who serves as a one-on-one learning guide.
The program uses the highly-regarded Calvert curriculum which has been used to educate over 500,000 students throughout the last century. The curriculum aligns to South Carolina standards and provides the best in both online education (via a learning management system) and offline materials (including textbooks, workbooks, and supplies).
The school also provides students with a computer and all necessary technology.

We, the undersigned, strongly support South Carolina Calvert Academy. We believe that a virtual public charter school will provide an appropriate option for students throughout the state who require a quality education and who need an alternative to the traditional classroom.
As parents who are interested in having this quality virtual charter school available for our children and as educators interested in helping operate such a school, we urge you to approve the South Carolina Calvert Academy charter application.
