As skaters in Mabopane, we face life threatening dangers on a daily basis due to the lack of a designated skating area since the streets and open roads are the only viable option.
This petition requests the erection of a skate park in the township of Mabopane to accommodate the fast-growing sport/hobby of skateboarding. Skating is a sport for the youth and clearly we can't, on our own, afford to build one ourselves and with the nearest skating area about an hour's drive away from the township; that automatically diminishes morale due to the cost.

We, the undersigned, are requesting the local government of Mabopane to build a fully functional (roughly 100 square-meter) skate park in the township for the safety and recreational purposes of the youth of Mabopane.
