The petition has been sent to Justice ministery of I R of Iran. A copy to the president of Iran Mr. Ahmadinejad and one to the Embassy in the UK.

Description/History:
Mr. Yaghub Mehrnehad, a graduate who was chairman of an NGO named 'Anjomane Sedaye Adalat' and was seeking social justice for the people of Sistan va Baluchestan through peaceful means. His methods of work included meeting the provincial authorities directly and bringing to their notice the discrepancies that were taking place under their management.
His campaign was excessive for the provincial authorities and they arrested him on April 27, 2007, and seemingly charged him on fabricated case of getting help from abroad. However, he is not been produced before a court of law and kept imprisoned ever since.

We wish to draw the attention of the High Authorities of Iran towards this matter and request them to order their representatives in the province to release Mr. Yaghub Mehrnehad who presumably is held with out the central government's knowledge.
His release and reengagement with his peaceful activities will discourage those who take extreme measures for seeking attention over such issue.
