The coalition government propose to increase the standard toll from £1.50 to £2 in 2011 and then to £2.50 by 2012.
The crossing was fully paid off in 2002 after which the toll was due to be withdrawn. While the long term aim is to abolish the toll completely, any further increase is totally unacceptable and this petition calls on the government to scrap the proposals forthwith.
We, the undersigned, oppose the increases to the Dartford Toll and call upon the Prime Minister to withdraw this scandalous proposal forthwith
