The city of Jerusalem working closely with the Jerusalem Foundation has installed all sorts of art projects throughout the city of Jerusalem. A new goddess fountain at the top of Ben Yehuda Street, a new Hindu prayer bell at Gan Sacher, but what is absent is any art that reflects our Jewish heritage.
We are working to stop the city from doing the same thing to Zion Square and rather have the city erect a magnificent Jewish Monument. The "Peace Dome" is an open-air dome shaped like the Star of David that will be clad with titanium presenting a Jewish face of Israel to the world, as post cards of Israel will change from the dome of the rock to the Peace Dome. We the undersigned support the efforts of Lemallah Citizens group to erect the Peace Dome at Zion Square.
We are concerned about the trend of art and culture that is internationalizing the city at the expense of Judaism and we strongly support this magnificent symbol of Judaism that proudly honors our heritage as a Jewish people and Jerusalem as our eternal Jewish capitol.
