The Wickford Action Group believes that the Sorting Office and Mail Collection Facility should remain in Wickford Town centre for the benefit of residents, and not moved out for the good of developers and estate agents.

Some of your Local Councillors do not agree with this and would like to see it compulsory purchased so that more flats can be built in Lower Southend Road.

The Wickford Action Group says leave the sorting office alone until another suitable site is found within the town centre.

If you agree please sign the petition which will be handed to the relevant body to show strength of local opinion. There is no date issued for the judicial review (as of 20 February 2009).

We, the undersigned, call upon the Public Inquiry NOT to allow the Compulsory Purchase of the Wickford Sorting Office and Collection Facility until such time as an alternative location in the Wickford Town Centre is provided by Basildon Council for the sorting, delivery and collection of mail.
