A footbridge was erected over Fiddlers Stream in Oxford in order for the public to access the Thames Path which takes them to the City Centre, Botley Road, Jericho and to Port Meadow.

Many people use this footbridge to avoid walking or cycling along a dangerous road which has no pavement or cycle path. The bridge is causing no problems and members of the public want it to stay.

We, the undersigned, petition Mr Tariq Khuja to leave in place the pedestrian/cycle bridge from Roger Dudman Way to the Thames Path, pending its permanent replacement.

The bridge is immensely popular with walkers and runners living in this area. It is also cherished by cyclists since it provides a safe way of getting around Oxford on a bicycle (avoids using the dangerous stretch of Botley Rd under the railway bridge).

Oxford University has very kindly offered for the bridge to remain and given the clear benefits of this crossing, we call on Mr Khuja to leave the bridge in its place, pending its permanent replacement.
