Save the 3rd Floor

SAVE OUR THIRD FLOOR DOG WALK AREA!!!

The WFS Board and Management have approved a plan to convert the third floor dog-walking area into a “terrace garden.”

This action will result in
Violation of civil code as stated in the Bylaws for board members to fairly represent its home owners
Increasing the existing deficit in budget for costs to build an eco park on the third floor
Decreased space for walking dogs within the complex
Increased traffic of dogs through lobby areas

This plan was approved WITHOUT the knowledge, input or permission of WFS owners.

We, the undersigned are signing this petition to oppose the planned conversion
Which will impact our HOA fees
Prohibits utilization of 3rd floor for dog walking

In addition to the points listed above, WFS has long marketed itself as “dog friendly.” It is the primary reason many of us purchased our units or chose to rent here.

Presently, the fourth floor is designated as a non-dog area, and is seldom used by owners and tenants. Despite recent improvements, we do not understand why the Board and Management would even consider converting yet another space for similar use and depriving us of a useful amenity.

If we are forced to walk our dogs on the public streets, or confined to a very small dog park area, it will decrease convenience for dog owners for which we pay. A number of single women consider the 3rd floor a safe environment for walking their dogs, especially at night. In addition, forcing us to walk on the street creates a dangerous situation.

We request the management board to present to all residents detailed plans, a budget, and cost/benefit analysis of the project so that the community can have an open debate as to its merits or otherwise before any plans are carried out or regulations put in place.
