Portarlington and the wider community have been most fortunate to have had access to the Portarlington Pool and Gym as a community resource for the past 30 years.
We are very concerned that the imminent closure of the pool will be detrimental to the health and well being of our community.
Many hundreds of people of all ages have benefited from this facility which has provided a safe and accessible venue for fitness classes, swimming lessons, school based swimming programs, adult swimming squads, water aerobics, lap swimming and water based therapies.
Closing the pool will result in these people no longer being able to easily access the learning opportunities and health services that this facility currently provides.
We, the undersigned, wish to see the Portarlington Pool and Gym remain open.
