Planners are allowing a development on a brownfield site, it is too bit & does not fit in a village surrounding, no sympathy at all. Big issue is the plan to fell a 150+ year old horse chestnut tree, outstandingly beautiful landmark of our village, been through 2 world wars & a revolution! Why fell it to allow for an out of character development?
Our council does not care about people & their opinions - we want to save this tree, it is the centre of our village, see Facebook Save Our Horse Chestnut Tree.
Please sign this petition so we can show the council they cannot just walk all over the people of this village, the people of this country!
We the undersigned want Rossendale Borough Council look for another way - not to fell but to treat and save our horse chestnut tree.
Felling is not the only solution. This is an historical piece of outstanding natural beauty and the centrepiece of Helmshore Village.
It has provided hours of joy for generations of people.
