Background (Preamble):
Nisus Scotland is a charity registered in Scotland supporting hundreds of people every year. It based in Edinburgh for supporting people facing barriers into employment and further education.
It has been established in 1986 as the Edinburgh Women’s Training Centre. Now this organization, based in Leith, empowers many people as they learn I.T. and communication skills (approved ECDL and approved SQA), they learn also English Languages (ESOL) courses and enhance their confidence and their employment skills by the Skilltech. Courses. ALL THIS AND MORE SKILLS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED FOR FREE.
Nisus accepts students include people with disabilities, lone parents and minority ethnic communities.

We, the undersigned, urge Edinburgh Council as one of the funders to save and support this organization.
The loss of a such a facility will be a loss of benefits many people. It is not fair to close Nisus Scotland with all its assets and professional staff.
