Background (Preamble):
At present, King County Executive Kurt Triplett has stated that he will eliminate KCACC animal sheltering & services from the King County 2010 budget effectively rendering an average of 10,000-12,000 homeless animals without humane sheltering and care.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call upon the King County Government to continue to provide King County with an open admissions animal shelter for the abused, neglected, abandoned, lost, ill, homeless, injured and surrendered animals of King County.
We want the current services provided by King County Animal Care and Control to be similar but not limited to those currently provided by the Kent and Bellevue Animal Shelters, continuing past 12/31/09 and beyond.
