Save Greenlands Park
Petition published by Ann Wilkinson on May 23, 2010
| 533 Signatures |
Target: Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council
Region: United Kingdom
Web site: http://www.savegreenlandspark.co.uk
Petition Background (Preamble):
Under Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council Core Strategy the northern end of Greenlands Park, North Anston, has been ear marked for a sustainable housing development.
This well established green area with mature blossoming trees including Horse Chestnut, Lime and many others which will, without doubt be felled should this proposal be adopted.
Another concern is that additional housing will bring an increase in traffic to the road that runs passed Anston Greenlands Junior and Infant School, which already struggles to cope with parking at drop-off and pick-up times.
The Park is very well used and appreciated by both the retired people who live in the area and young families within easy walking distance of it.
