The sidewalk trees along the roads in Durban North are being felled at an alarming rate.
The destruction of the sidewalk trees leaves the landscape desolate, destroys the habitat for birds and beneficial insects, and generally devalues property in the area.
This trend should be stopped.
We, the undersigned, call upon the Ethekwini Municipality to put a stop to the felling of sidewalk trees in the Durban North area, without the proper consultation with interested and affected parties, and request the protection of these trees by Law.
