The Government wants to sell 100% of England's publicly owned forests. This means selling heritage forests like the Forest of Dean and the New Forest. It also means selling Cann Woods - part of Plym Valley Woods.
We want to keep Cann Woods publicly owned. We want to keep it free and open for public access and not sold off to the highest bidder.
We, the undersigned, call on the Government to immediately halt its plans to sell the Forestry Commission's woodlands across England and especially stop the sale of Cann Woods, part of the Plym Valley Woods, in Devon.
We believe the Forestry Commission's woodlands should remain in public ownership without charges or fees for public use, safeguarding these natural habitats for future generations. We oppose plans to sell Cann Woods to the highest bidder.
