It has been announced that ABC Family has decided to cancel the "Pretty Little Liars" spin-off "Ravenswood" after only one 10-episode season. This decision is said to be due to low ratings and the lack of a fanbase.
Fans of this series do exist, however, and we would like to make ourselves heard. It is our belief that "Ravenswood" was not given sufficient airtime to generate the kind of large fanbase that a series of its quality deserves.
Gathering fans takes time, especially when the series in question is debuted in a prime time slot against already popular shows. Convincing fans of a successful "parent" series that a spin-off is worthwhile takes time.
Given these facts, we believe that this show was cancelled prematurely.
We, the undersigned, petition ABC Family and its president, Tom Ascheim, to reverse the decision to cancel "Ravenswood".
This series does have a fanbase, and we believe that, given sufficient time, it will gather a larger number of viewers and produce the kind of ratings that your network expects to see from the series it chooses to broadcast.
We hope that this show of fan support will allow you to see that "Ravenswood" deserves a better chance at success.
