The Pet Girl of Sakurasou began as a light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida, with illustrations drawn by Kēji Mizoguchi. ASCII Media Works published 13 volumes in the series under their Dengeki Bunko imprint encompassing 10 main novels and three short story collections released between January 10, 2010, and March 8, 2014.
A 24-episode anime TV series adaptation, produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Atsuko Ishizuka, aired in Japan between October 9, 2012 and March 26, 2013 on Tokyo MX. It has been licensed by Sentai Filmworks in North America. The series was also simulcasted on Crunchyroll.
The plot of the story takes place inSakura Dormitory is a dorm of the high school affiliated with Suimei University of the Arts (often shortened as Suiko), which hosts the strangest, most trouble-making students.
After being kicked out of the normal dorm for keeping a stray cat, Sorata Kanda moves into Sakura Dormitory. As he starts to get used to the life in the dorm, Mashiro Shiina, a world famous artist who cannot even take care of her daily life, moves in. Sorata is forced to become Mashiro's handler. The story is about their daily lives as well as mental growth.

Greeting to all Sakurasou fans who enjoyed the anime thoroughly. How was the last episode? Sure, it may be an acceptable, appropiate and suitable ending but deep down inside, is that what everyone who made it through the anime wanted? We say that it was a great and perfect anime but I am pretty sure everyone are liars. We lied about being satisfied with an ending, a quickly dismissed one. If I or should i say we, was wrong, feel free to ignore it but based on the numerous feedback from many anime-streaming sites, I am sure that it is enough for an exciting Season 2.
Many decisively wished for more romance between Mashiro and Sorata while others preferred the lives of the new inmates. A season 2 that complements each other with these two elements is enough for us, the compassionate viewers. With this petition, I hope to reach to many who sincerely and prayed hard for a season 2. Is this something you would let down easily, producers, directors and audience? Don't leave us hanging like how you did with the anime and characters, if all else fails, there's a Plan C, right?
