In a news article dated January 17, 2009, Sacramento Bee reporter Ryan Lillis stated that a grassroots petition started by an ordinary resident, was factually incorrect.
However, a closer review of the claims made by Mr. Lillis shows that the statements he claimed appeared on the petition, are nowhere to be found on that petition.
We the undersigned, ask that management at the Sacramento Bee correct the mistake in Mr. Lillis' article and set the record straight.
Also, we request that the Bee look into reports that the signature gatherers on the yes side, were misleading and misinforming voters about what the power grab proposal really does.
We believe that is a story that is more newsworthy, than nit-picking through an online grassroots citizens petition and making claims in the press that it has factual errors in it, when in fact there are no factual errors that can be proven to currently exist in that document.
