The population of the village and surrounding area has almost doubled in the last ten years resulting in an even greater increase in resident children who are being put at risk while the present out of date traffic system remains.
There has also been a substantial increase in traffic in both directions from the New Farm area and from Galston.
As farm machinery become larger and more powerful there is a further potential risk during certain periods of high activity unless there are speed controls in place.
1) Reduce speed limit to 20 mph including signage.
2) Install a road calming system ie. Road humps/speed cushions allowing cyclists free passage.
3) Caution children at play signage.
