Murthly Primary School is unusually situated approximately 3/4 of a mile out with the village centre. The approach to the school, from the village, consists of a busy road with a variable 30-40 mph speed limit thereon.
A narrow, badly maintained pavement runs alongside this road. Society is increasingly concerned with improving health and fitness amongst our children and walking to school can aid this greatly.
However, it is currently dangerous for children in Murthly to walk to school as the council refuse to install adequate speed calming measures.
We, the undersigned, call on Perth and Kinross Council to install further signage and white lines on the approaches to Murthly Primary School.
