State of Maine Revenue

Last week I applied for the Maine Renter's Rebate that is available every year. One of their requirements is that your rent paid has to be at least 20% of your total income from the previous year.

I was denied a refund because my rent paid turned out to be 19.8% of my total income. Like millions of other Americans, I heavily rely on this rebate every year. This rebate check helps many families pay bills, their current rent, or even food in order to support their family.

I am asking for everyone to sign this petition so that people including myself, can still be eligible for a rebate while being a mere 0.02% away from the minimum. My hopes are to receive at least 100 signatures in order for me to present this to the State of Maine for reconsideration.

I hope for this to make a difference on their policy and to have them round up to the next percentage, if a persons rent paid is at least 19.5% and up.

Thank you for your help!

We, the undersigned, feel that individuals who have a percentage of 19.5 and up be included in the minimum 20% required to receive a rebate check from the state of Maine.
