Two days ago, my neighbour arrived telling me he shot both of my dogs on his property. They were seen attacking a sheep (which had to be put down). One dog I can understand, he was a cross-bred with Bull Mastiff (I think.) This dog had attacked our sheep also (we had just taken on this dog whose owner passed away). The second dog was my daughter's chihuahua/foxie cross who was six months old. (Penny) , this dog I cannot understand being shot.

The neighbour told me and reported to the police both dogs were attacking the sheep. He also claimed both were attacking the sheep at the time of shooting.

My first argument is what damage would a six month old chihuahua/foxie be able to do to a sheep.

My second argument is if he shot one dog, then surely the other dog would of started running off, therefore not attacking the sheep at the time of killing.

We the undersigned call upon the NSW Government to review current gun license laws.

Especially in regard to trigger-happy farmers who are able to shoot innocent pet dogs.

The Review Gun Licence Laws petition to Rural Gun licence holders was written by julie and is in the category Animal Welfare at GoPetition.
