Background (Preamble):
Everybody knows that one of the best defensive players to ever step foot on the field wearing a Seahawk uniform was Cortez Kennedy.
In 2006 Sports Illustrated wrote a book of the all-time best players to wear a number. Kennedy was the one choosen for 96, yet his jersey is not retired in Seattle. He also is in the Seahawks Ring of Honor giving another reason as to why this is a no-brainer.

Dear Seattle Seahawk Orginization,
Please honor the one and only Cortez Kennedy. Nobody compares to what he did for this orginization. From refusing to move to L.A. when our buddy Ken Bohering was going to pick us up and move us.
He also was named Defensive Player of the Year when we went 2-14! He has over 50 all-time sacks and is one of the very few to play a full career with us and no other team.
It's time that we repay him for all of his hard work he has done in Seattle for us through his time in Seattle! To the best defensive linemen Seattle has ever had Cortez Kennedy we owe you. Thanks to all that are with me!
